Amazing Grace

It's amazing to see how God takes care of His people. How the blind are not hurt when they are by themselves in the streets, how the number of innocent street urchins never seem to diminish in spite of not getting proper nourishment; the Lord really sees and knows all.

Having said just that, I no longer wonder long and hard how the people in the choir become a source of strength. Your family--your life. How we all stick together no matter what. Adine Bernardo once said and also as what Miss Camu emphasized numerous times, as long as you have a core group to work with, you should be fine. So, no matter how many problems get in the way, everyone keeps serving. Everyone helps in his own way.

The group activity with the guidance counselor a couple of weeks ago taught me alot. It dint seem alot to me at first but after a couple of days, reality hit me hard on the face. That whatever life throws at us, we really do our best to accommodate it. Of course we try to dodge problems in the beginning but if it seems the troubles are there to stay, we take action. And taking action means we see there's hope. Taking action means we care. And caring is loving.

And I am loved.

I dint really know anything about Bayang Barrios until a couple of minutes ago. I decided to surf here at the university library while waiting for my next class (which is due after 3 more hours) and voila! I got her website. Really inspired by the song "Isipin Mo Na Lang" which turns out to be by Mike Villegas, Bayang's musician-husband (don't you just love it when you see couples into the same passion?). Tried searching for the lyrics but unsuccessful. Anyway, maybe I ought to get myself a Bayang collection. My christmas wish list already has one item on it: a CD of Bayang with the song, "Isipin Mo Na Lang."

Bayang Barrios and husband Mike Villegas have literally produced lots and lots of good quality music. Sila pala ang mga tao sa likod ng nakatitindig-balahibong soundtrack ng Encantadia. Go Pinoy Power!

What's more, they perform regularly at the Conspiracy Cafe along Visayas Avenue. FYI, before the place became known as it is now, it was named Frederico's. It used to be owned by a relative of a choirmate. We even had a christmas party there a couple of years ago. True pinoy artists and AKAP (a support group for folks with autistic children), I think, are regular hosts to great shows in the place. But enough about that, really.

So happy I have another inspiration in music. I just hope more and more artists like Bayang and Mike become recognized internationally as music icons.

jun and i watched Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo and boy, it was wonderful! i dint expect i'd be crying at the end of the movie. the words of the song Isipin Mo Na Lang by Bayang Barrios touched my heart deeply. i was crying practically half of the time we were strolling around glorietta after watching the movie. the story almost made the big impact that magnifico had on me. maximo's struggles were very close to my own. the story was very touching; appealing to emotions. the sacrifice theme was very affecting.

today is jun's graduation at the office. picked him up in gateway and surprised him with a little something. hope he likes it.

came out to leona last night so i'm quite happy that i found another real friend. i've been missing her for days na pala and i dreamt about her. when i woke up a couple of nights ago, i was crying. as leona would have it, FABULOUS!

so tired and sleepy. spent practically the whole day with hubby. picked him up at the office a couple of hours after his shift and went to manila for some christmas shopping.

we swept the tiangges in divisoria, tutuban ( plus the new 168 mall and another one which starts with 'c' ) and yes, greenhills! got kinda disappointed because i was only able to get a couple of good shirts. dint see anything that caught my interest.

hubby and i gave each other surprises today which was kinda fun because we were supposed to get something for one another without either one of us knowing it. i gave him a good, good pink polo which was really hard for me to give away because it was probably my best find. but then i thought of all the super great things that he's done for me and also the joy of giving something to my labiduds. ang saya!

as i went home, i felt good about having my own money to spend. at least i'm buying stuff for myself this time.
